Service Service is recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Design Engineer on behalf of a specialist engineering manufacturer based in Droitwich. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business involved in the design and development of bespoke recovery vehicles.

The Role

• Design and develop mechanical systems and structures for commercial and recovery vehicles
• Produce 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD
• Support fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
• Carry out basic engineering calculations relating to load capacity and material selection
• Maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and drawing revisions
• Support continuous improvement of existing designs

About You

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Design Engineering
• Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D
• Background in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Understanding of fabrication, welding, and machining processes
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable Experience

• Commercial vehicle, heavy vehicle, or recovery vehicle design
• Hydraulic systems knowledge
• Structural steel or load-bearing assembly design
