My client, a leading provider of education and training in the Financial Services Sector have an exciting opportunity for a former Financial Services Professional to join their existing team as a Trainer and Assessor.
The ideal candidate for this role would be a Financial Planner, Paraplanner or Senior Technical Administrator who is either chartered, level 4 qualified or holds a number of CII qualifications.
In this role you will assess and support across three main areas: vocational training (skills based), academic teaching (qualifications), and functional skills (literacy, numeracy and ICT).

The key responsibilities are to:
1. You will plan and prepare schemes of work, lessons, and sessions
2. You will teach across a range of financial services qualification types
(CII / LIBF) and levels, online and at employer sites
3. You will research and develop new topics, courses and teaching materials, especially online resources
4. You will teach large and small groups of learners from a range of backgrounds, abilities, and ages
5. You will monitor, assess and mark learner’s work
6. You will maintain accurate records and monitor learners’ progress using the SkillStar system
7. You will set and oversee examinations and liaise with assessment organisations to ensure quality standards are met
8. You will carry out pastoral support as a tutor and mentor to learners
9. You will conduct reviews and tutorials on a one-to-one basis with learners and together with employers
10. You will plan additional support requirements for learners
11. You will contribute to sector meetings to monitor, review, and evaluate relevant courses
12. You will represent My clients Training at taster days, open days, and careers events appropriate to the sector
13. You will keep up to date with, and implement company performance and quality frameworks, policies, and processes
14. You will interview and enrol prospective learners
15. You will liaise with other educational professionals and organisations
16. You will carry out learner assessments in the workplace
17. You will undertake a range of administrative tasks
18. You will ensure you undertake the highest standards regarding teaching and assessment practice
19. You will embed personal development, welfare, and behaviour topics into sessions where appropriate
20. You will stretch and challenge learner’s literacy and numeracy when training, assessing or marking
21. You will deliver functional skills as required
22. You will assist with my clients training in ensuring its marketing efforts are up to date, appropriate and relevant
23. You will perform site visits to employers to review learner progress, and also ensure the employer is providing a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning
24. You will build rapport with employers to ensure the successful delivery of training programmes
25. You will raise any concerns immediately to the company’s designated safeguarding officer
26. You will create support plans for learners if they fall behind
27. You will operate strictly within the funding and performance rules of our commissioners, including the Education and Skills Funding Agency and Ofsted

Personal Specification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working within an IFA
• CII DipPFS, equivalent or higher, though someone with a number of CII qualifications may be considered
• In-depth knowledge of financial services
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Interpersonal skills (ability to relate to students of all ages and abilities)
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Creativity to make learning engaging
• A flexible approach to work
• Enthusiasm, positivity, motivation and commitment
• Patience and a sense of humour

• Level 3 teaching or training qualification (can be supplied)
• Level 3 assessing qualification (can be supplied)
• Training, coaching and mentoring experience

Functional Accountabilities

1. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of your subject or professional area through meeting the CPD requirements of the CII
2. You will ensure both internal and external performance and quality standards are met
3. You will ensure the continuous improvement of performance and quality standards across the business in a supportive and objective manner
4. You will perform and assist in the end to end administrative process
5. You will foster a culture of performance and quality built on openness, respect and high professional standards

Monday to Thursday 09:00 – 17:00
Friday 09:00 – 16:00
36.5 Hours Per Week
Half an hour for lunch

28 days holiday (including bank holidays) *however they also have 5 company days taken over Christmas taking this to 32 days.

Home / remote working (Laptop and addition IT equipment provided as needed e.g. additional monitor)

Salary reviewed annually in February
